Punch

When you inhale the rich smoke of the cigar called Punch, you are reminded of the rich history and the art which went into the making of this brand of cigars. The history behind the Punch brand of cigars is made of legends and involves both the countries of England and Cuba in these legends. This brand of cigars really gives you a punch in the true sense of the term with its rich taste. Manuel Lopez, who used to make cigars in Cuba, first created this brand of cigars in 1840. He decided on the brand name as Punch to make it popular with the British smokers where Punch is a bad tempered character in a puppet show which has another person named Judy with an opposite character. The Punch brand of cigars was first made in the Honduras where the production was entirely supervised by Frank Llaneza who was an expert on the manufacture of cigars in the factory of the company called Villazon. The Punch brand of cigars were exported to the UK market in 1969 and to this day it has maintained its success as a brand. This brand of cigars with its normal full size has been named appropriately and is appealing to men of character who have fixed principles and ideas. The wrapper of this brand of cigars is highly flavored and comes from the Ecuador while the fillers are a blend of the rich tobacco leaves found in the Republic of Dominica, the Honduras and Nicaragua.

This cigar brand is not suitable for a smoker who is a beginner because of its unconventional nature and its straightness of character with no tolerance for any nonsense which would have brought a smile to the lips of the irritable character of Mister Punch. The Deluxe variety is stronger than the normal Punch cigars and is a combination of complex and subtle flavors which might make a very choosy smoker happy. The Deluxe variety also includes several varieties of the Maduro cigars also.

A cigar manufacturer from Cuba named Manuel Lopez was the first to produce the Punch brand of cigars in the year 1840. The production of the deluxe variety of cigars was carried on under the direct supervision of Frank Llaneza who was an expert on the manufacture of Cuban cigars at the factory of Villazon in the Honduras. This brand was released into the market in the year 1990 to meet the increased demand for premium and sophisticated cigars from the smokers. Since then the brand has picked up a great number of loyal customers.

The Deluxe variety of the cigars, with the brand name of Punch, have a full length body and are made from a rich blend of tobacco leaves grown in the Honduras with the wrapper made from the leaves of a Sumatran tobacco plant grown in Ecuador. The wrapper on the Maduro variety of the Deluxe brand is made from dark tobacco broadleaf grown in Connecticut. Your choice is to be complimented when you sit down to smoke the deluxe variety of the Punch brand of cigars which is known for its fineness and incomparable flavours.

The Grand Cru variety has a body which can vary between the medium to the mild and looks very elegant to the smoker. The Grand Cru is to fine liquor what the Deluxe is to Scotch whisky. With the success achieved by deluxe variety when it was released into the market in 1990, Frank Llaneza made up his mind to create a cigar by far the strongest cigar in the market. The Grand Cru was the result of such a decision and it came four years later as a Punch brand with a different taste to be enjoyed by the smokers. The Grand Cru is proudly acclaimed as the best cigar of the Punch line of cigars because it is silkier than the others. The elegance of the wrapper from Connecticut and the blend of the very high premium tobacco leaves from the Honduras are responsible for this smoothness. The Maduro version of the Grand Cru cigars are wrapped with the darkest broadleaf from Connecticut.

The best time to enjoy a Grand Cru cigar is when you are completely relaxed and you are able to fully appreciate with all your attention the flavour of the cigar. The Rare Corojo is another variety of the Punch brand of cigars which is very rare due to the rich red colour wrapper it is wrapped with which are found very rarely.

The exceptional Rare Corojo variety of cigars was sold out within a very short time as soon as it was released in the market because of its aroma and flavour. After this happened, Frank Llaneza started to make this variety in small numbers in 2001 and gave it a square shape which made the construction stronger than the earlier variety. The Rare Corojo variety of cigars has a Sumatran wrapper which is rich and dark and grown on the Ecuadorian mountains. The filler consists of a rich mixture of tobacco leaves from Nicaragua, Honduras and the Dominican Republic blended together. The Rare Corojo variety of cigars packed in their distinctive red boxes gives a bigger kick if you are looking for one. The Grand Puro variety of cigars gives you a taste of the art of making cigars when you smoke one. Cigars made in the Honduras have become world famous because of their purity of spicy taste and the adherence to the tradition of providing you with a punch. The Punch variety of cigars has held the position of being the most premium cigar brand produced by the company called Villazon since the time it was exported to other countries from the Honduras in 1969. The original cigar was made by Manuel Lopez in 1840 and was given the name of Punch which was the name of a bad tempered character in a puppet show famous in Britain to make the cigar attractive to the British smokers. The Grand Puro which was launched in 2003 symbolizes the cultural traditions of the character named Punch which is depicted elegantly on the box in the form of a medallion showing the picture of Mister Punch accompanied by his dog named Toby. The Grand Puro variety of cigars is fully made in the Honduras with a wrapper which is bolder and darker specially made for it from a plant grown from seeds brought from Havana to the valley of San Agustin in the Honduras. The wrapper along with the binder is allowed to attain the colour and the flavour which distinguishes this variety of cigars and out of them the best are chosen for making the cigar. It makes it very difficult to duplicate this variety. The Gran Puro variety of cigars is hundred per cent Honduran, built with a medium or full body and very serious which would have appealed to even an irritable character like Mister Punch.
